Your file never leaves your computer

This tool runs entirely in your browser. There is no upload endpoint on this page — the PDF library does all of the work locally on your device, the result file is generated in memory, and the download starts from your own machine. Open your browser's network panel and verify: nothing is sent.

FAQ

Background Remover questions, answered

Is there a watermark, signup or daily limit?

None of the above. Drop an image, get the result, download it.

Do you keep my photos?

No. Your image is processed entirely in your browser. The only network traffic is a one-time download of the AI model weights, which are cached locally for future visits.

How does it work without uploading?

The browser runs the AI segmentation model on your device via ONNX Runtime Web inside a Web Worker. Same model architecture (briaai/RMBG family) as the major paid services.

Fast vs Standard — which should I pick?

Standard is the default and handles almost every photo well, including hair and complex edges. Pick Fast if you just want a quick preview or you are on a slow connection — it uses a smaller model (~7 MB instead of ~44 MB) with slightly rougher edges on the trickiest cases.

Can I use the output for commercial work?

Yes. No usage restrictions on the file you produce — Amazon, Etsy, social ads, anything.

What is the maximum image size?

Whatever your browser can handle. There is no hard cap from us — the real limit is device memory. A modern laptop comfortably handles photos up to ~6000 × 6000 pixels. Phones tend to struggle past about 3000 × 3000.

Why does the first image take longer than the next?

On the first run the browser downloads the model weights (about 44 MB for Standard). After that the weights are cached in IndexedDB and every subsequent image processes from cache. The "Model cached" badge appears once the weights are local.

Can I batch-process many files?

Not yet — V1 handles one image at a time. Batch mode is planned for a follow-up.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, on the latest two versions of iOS Safari and Android Chrome. On low-memory devices the Best tier may fail to load — switch to Fast or Standard if it crashes the tab.
