Split PDF
Pull individual pages or page ranges out of a PDF. Save as separate files or one trimmed PDF. Everything runs in your browser.
Split mode
Use commas to separate, dashes for ranges. Pages start at 1. Your PDF has 0 pages.
Your file never leaves your computer
This tool runs entirely in your browser. There is no upload endpoint on this page — the PDF library does all of the work locally on your device, the result file is generated in memory, and the download starts from your own machine. Open your browser's network panel and verify: nothing is sent.
How it works
Three steps, no surprises
Add a PDF
Drop in a single PDF file. We read it in your browser and count the pages instantly.
Pick the split
Choose page ranges (1-3, 7, 10-12) or split every page into its own file.
Download
A single download — either a PDF or a zip of PDFs if you produced more than one.
FAQ
Split PDF questions, answered
How do page ranges work?
Type a comma-separated list using either single pages or page ranges with a dash. For example "1-3, 7, 10-12" extracts pages 1, 2, 3, 7, 10, 11 and 12. Each entry becomes its own output PDF, and we bundle them into a zip when there is more than one.
What does "one PDF per page" mode do?
It splits every single page of your PDF into a standalone single-page PDF. So a 50-page document becomes 50 PDFs inside a zip file. Useful for processing each page through another tool, or pulling out one page at a time later.
Why does the output come as a zip when I split into multiple files?
Browsers cannot reliably trigger multiple downloads in one click — most will block the second and later files as a security measure. Wrapping the output in a zip means you get a single clean download regardless of how many ranges you specified.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
We try to read encrypted PDFs in ignore-encryption mode, which works for some files but not for genuinely password-locked ones. If your file fails to load, open it in your usual PDF viewer, remove the password, then come back.
Does the output keep form fields, links and bookmarks?
Page content, annotations and most internal links are preserved. Form fields tied to pages that get extracted will travel with them. Bookmarks (outlines) are rebuilt from scratch, so if cross-document bookmarks matter, a desktop tool will do a better job.
