Your file never leaves your computer

This tool runs entirely in your browser. There is no upload endpoint on this page — the PDF library does all of the work locally on your device, the result file is generated in memory, and the download starts from your own machine. Open your browser's network panel and verify: nothing is sent.

FAQ

Sign PDF questions, answered

Is this an eIDAS / qualified electronic signature?

No. This is a simple visual signature — a signature image placed onto a PDF page. For documents that legally need a qualified electronic signature (eIDAS, ESIGN Act compliance, certified timestamps), use a dedicated service like DocuSign, Adobe Sign or a qualified trust service provider. For everyday signing — contracts you're sending back, forms, internal documents — a visual signature is usually fine and what most signing tools actually do under the hood.

How does the camera signature work?

Sign your name on a plain white sheet, choose the Camera tab and hold the paper up to your webcam or phone camera. We grab a frame and automatically remove the paper — adaptive thresholding follows the lighting, so shadows and off-white paper don't bleed through — leaving a clean, transparent signature you can recolour and drop onto the page. It all happens in your browser; no photo is uploaded. No camera? Use the Upload tab with a photo or scan instead.

Can I save a signature and reuse it?

Yes. Hit "Save to this device" and the signature is stored in this browser only (localStorage) — never uploaded to us or anyone. It then appears under "Saved on this device" so you can reuse it on any PDF with one click. Delete it any time; it won't follow you to another device or browser.

My captured signature looks messy or too light — how do I fix it?

The clean-up step has four controls: "Background removal" (higher strips more paper, lower keeps faint strokes); "Ink strength" to darken and bolden a light or thin signature; an Eraser to drag over stray hand edges, table lines or shadows; and Crop — a box auto-fits around your signature and you drag its corner handles to trim tight, so it fills the frame and stays sharp. For the best capture, use a dark pen on bright white paper in even light and fill the frame. You can also switch pen colour, flip a mirrored shot, or just draw or type the signature instead.

How do I sign on a touchscreen?

On the Draw tab, use your finger or a stylus — it works on phones and tablets the same way it works with a mouse. A stylus, or drawing slowly, usually gives the best result. Typing your name or capturing a paper signature with the camera are good alternatives on mobile.

Can I add several signatures, plus text?

Yes — it's a full editor. Add as many signatures as you like, and switch to the Text tool to type names, dates or a quick "Thank you" in your choice of font (Sans, Serif, Typewriter, Handwriting or Rounded). Every item lands on the page as a movable block: drag to reposition, drag the corner dot to resize, or hit × (or the Delete key) to remove it. Place items across any pages, then export once.

Can I tick boxes, add a date, or draw shapes?

Yes. The Mark tab gives you a one-click tick (✓), cross (✗) and a Date — today by default, or pick any date — in long, DD/MM/YYYY or ISO format. The Shapes tab adds a box, circle, line and a white-out cover. Drop them wherever you need — ticking consent boxes, dating a form, circling an option, boxing a field — and move, resize or recolour them like any other item. It's the "fill" half of fill-and-sign.

Can I use my own colour? And what is "white-out"?

Yes — every signature, text, mark and shape uses the colour you pick: three quick presets plus a full colour picker and a hex box, so you can match a brand colour exactly. "White-out" (under Shapes) drops a white box to cover a mistake or blank a field. Important: it covers content, it does not delete the text underneath, so don't rely on it to hide sensitive information — for that you need a true redaction tool.

What's the difference between Apply and Download?

Apply adds the current signature or text onto the page — you can apply as many as you want, on any page (or just click the page where you want each one). Nothing is final until you press Download, which flattens everything into a new signed PDF and saves it. So build the whole document up first, then download once at the end.

Can I change the size and position after placing?

Yes. Every item is movable: drag it to reposition, drag the corner dot to resize, or use the Selected size slider for fine control. Press × or the Delete key to remove one. Items are exported as transparent PNGs, so they stay crisp at any size.
