These terms cover how you may use the SEO First Web website (seofirstweb.co.uk) and the free tools on it. By using the site you agree to them. We've kept it short and plain-English. If anything is unclear, email info@seofirstweb.co.uk and we'll explain.
Who we are
SEO First Web is a London-based digital consultancy and a sole trader, operating from International House, 24 Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 2BN. Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean SEO First Web; "you" means anyone using the site.
Using this website
You may use this site and its tools for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. In return, you agree not to:
- Use the site in any way that breaks UK law or infringes someone else's rights
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the site or the servers behind it
- Scrape, resell or rebrand our tools or content as your own product or service
- Use automated systems to hammer the tools in a way that degrades the service for others (the tools have fair-use rate limits for this reason)
The free tools
The SEO, PDF, image and developer tools on this site are provided free of charge and "as is", with no guarantee of accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Use your own judgement before acting on their output.
- You're responsible for what you submit. Only submit URLs, files or content you have the right to process.
- Data sources can change. Several tools rely on free third-party data (for example Google Suggest and Serper.dev). If a provider changes its terms or a free allowance runs out, the affected tool may be paused without notice.
- Most processing is in your browser. Our PDF, image and link-audit tools run locally on your device. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and isn't sent to us.
- No SLA. The free tools come with no uptime or support commitment. We'll do our best to keep them working, but can't promise to.
Consultancy services
You can buy several of our services at a fixed price directly from the Pricing page (for example a Starter or Business website, the SEO Audit, the Website Care Plan or Monthly SEO). Those purchases are covered by the sections below. Larger or bespoke work (for example a Premium build, a custom project or a tailored retainer) is governed by the separate written proposal or agreement we send you. Where this page and a signed proposal ever conflict, the signed proposal takes priority for the work it covers.
Pricing and online payments
The prices on our Pricing page are the full amount you pay. You can order and pay online in a few minutes:
- Secure checkout. Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment processor. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure checkout, not on our site, and we never see or store your full card number.
- Accepting these terms. Stripe asks you to accept these Terms of Service as part of every checkout. Placing an order means you have read and agreed to them.
- Fixed-price work (website builds and the SEO Audit) is paid in full upfront, before work begins.
- Monthly plans (the Website Care Plan and Monthly SEO) are billed monthly in advance: the first payment is taken at checkout and then on the same date each month until you cancel.
- Prices can change for future orders, but the price you paid at checkout is the price for that order.
VAT
SEO First Web is not currently registered for VAT. All prices shown are the total amount payable; no VAT is added.
Fixed-price services
Fixed-price work (such as a website build or the SEO Audit) is quoted and paid as a single, upfront amount. We begin once we have received your payment and the information we need from you to start (see "Your responsibilities" below). What is included is whatever is described on the Pricing page or in your proposal; anything beyond that scope is agreed and quoted separately before we do it.
Monthly retainers (minimum term and notice)
Our recurring plans bill monthly in advance:
- Monthly SEO has a 3-month minimum term. After that it continues on a rolling monthly basis, and you can cancel any time by giving 30 days' written notice. You will be billed for the notice period.
- Website Care Plan has no minimum term. It is rolling monthly and you can cancel any time with 30 days' written notice.
- To cancel either plan, email info@seofirstweb.co.uk. Cancellation stops future billing after the notice period; it does not refund months already started.
Refunds and cancellations
This policy is designed to be fair while protecting work and time already committed.
- Strategy and discovery calls. Fully refundable if cancelled at least 48 hours before the scheduled time, or rescheduled free of charge. Non-refundable once the call has taken place, or if cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice. (The free 15-minute discovery call carries no charge in any case.)
- Fixed-price services (audits and website builds). Because these involve scheduled time, research and production, a full refund is available only if you cancel before work has begun. Once we have started, the order is non-refundable; however, if you cancel mid-project we will refund any portion clearly relating to work not yet started, at our reasonable discretion. Completed work, delivered reports and time already spent are non-refundable.
- Online cooling-off (consumers). Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have a 14-day right to cancel online purchases. By ordering and asking us to begin within that period, you expressly request that work starts immediately and acknowledge that, once work has begun, your refund is limited to the portion of work not yet performed, and that the right to cancel is lost once the service is fully performed. This statutory right does not apply to business customers.
- Monthly retainers. Billed monthly in advance with a 3-month minimum term. Monthly fees are non-refundable once the billing month has started, as work and resources are allocated in advance. After the minimum term you may cancel any time with 30 days' written notice, and you will be billed for the notice period.
We always aim to be fair. If something has gone wrong on our side, contact us and we will put it right.
Turnaround
After you order, you will receive a confirmation and a short onboarding questionnaire by email. We typically begin work within 2 to 3 working days of receiving your completed answers and any materials we need. Delivery timescales for each project are agreed with you and depend on the size of the work and how quickly we receive content and feedback from you; delays on the supply of those will move the timeline accordingly.
Your responsibilities
To deliver good work on time, we rely on you to:
- Provide the access we need (for example to your domain, hosting, website, or analytics) in a timely way
- Supply the content, images, branding and information the project requires, and confirm you have the right to use them
- Give feedback and approvals within a reasonable time so the project keeps moving
- Make sure the contact details you give us are accurate, so confirmations and onboarding emails reach you
Friends Referral discount
- New customers referred by an existing client or friend receive £100 off a Starter or Business website build using code FRIEND100 at checkout.
- One referral discount per new customer. It cannot be combined with other discounts, and it applies to website builds only (not the SEO Audit or the Website Care Plan).
- The referred customer must be genuinely new to SEO First Web. We may decline obvious abuse or self-referrals, and we may change or withdraw the offer at any time; orders already placed are honoured.
Intellectual property
The site design, branding, written content and the tools themselves are owned by SEO First Web unless stated otherwise. You may use the tools and read the content freely, but you may not copy, republish or resell them as your own. Output you generate from a tool using your own input (for example a schema block, a robots.txt file or a converted image) is yours to use however you like. No attribution required, though it's always appreciated.
Third-party links
Some pages link to other websites we don't control. We include them because we think they're useful, but we're not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.
Disclaimer and liability
SEO involves search engines and markets we don't control, so we can't and don't guarantee specific rankings, traffic or revenue from using this site or its tools. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the free tools or the website.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded under UK law.
Privacy
How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
